Run a poll, then turn it into an event
Next book, next route, next meeting night — and the one-click path from a decided poll to a real event on the calendar.
Ask the question
From Polls, write a question and list the options. Keep the question short; it's the line members see on the club page and in the email. Two options is the minimum and there's no real maximum, though a poll with fifteen choices tends to split the vote into noise.
Set a deadline, and decide about the result email
The deadline is optional but useful: it closes voting on its own, so a poll can't drift for a month. Underneath it, Email members the result decides whether confirming a winner sends everyone the outcome. Turn that on for anything people are actually waiting to hear.
Email it to your members, once
The poll's own page has the button that sends it to your members, and it works exactly once per poll. Before you press it, make sure the options are final: there's no second send to correct a typo. The confirmation tells you how many members it reached.
Members who've muted your club's emails aren't counted, which is why the number may be smaller than your roster.
Members vote from the club page
Open polls appear right on the club's page, and members vote there. One vote each, and voting again while the poll is open simply changes their answer, so nobody has to get it right the first time. Only active members can vote, which keeps a poll from being brigaded by people who aren't actually in the club.
Confirm the result, then make it real
You pick the winner. That's not a bug: votes inform, organizers decide, and sometimes the runner-up is the one the venue can actually hold. Confirming closes the poll and pins the winning option to your club page. From there, Create event from result opens the normal new-event form already filled in with the winner's name and a note that the club chose it.
